Burghart Klaußner

Burghart Klaußner, born in Berlin in 1949, received his training as actor at Berlin's Max Reinhardt School and has performed on stages in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Zurich, Hanover and Bochum among others. He became known to television audiences through his appearances in »Tatort« and »Adelheid und ihre Mörder«, and can also be seen in many films, among them »Goodbye Lenin« (2003), »Die fetten Jahren sind vorbei« (German Film Prize as Best Supporting Role in 2005) and »Requiem« (2006). At this year's film festival in Locarno he was awarded best leading role for his performance in »Der Mann von der Botschaft«. He launched his successful directorial debut with the play »Die Ziege oder wer ist Sylvia«, by Edward Albee, performed at the Kammerspiele in Hamburg. Burghart Klaußner lives in Hamburg and Berlin.
