Peter Stein reads Pushkin's “Eugene Onegin”
Peter Stein will read Pushkin's “Eugene Onegin” in three parts, in an event organised by the international literature festival berlin in co-operation with spielzeit'europa, on 19th December 2010 in the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.
Pushkin's masterpiece dazzles with its acute grasp of human nature, its wit, and its refined literary allusions and refractions. It is both the founding work and the apex of Russian literature. In Ulrich Busch's supple translation, retaining the verse and rhythmic structures of the original, Pushkin's poem can still be enjoyed today in another language.
