Steinunn Sigurðardóttir on the perennial theme of love
A man returns to the house of his first love in Iceland after 17 years and places a rose in front of her door, which she finds lying there, frozen, the next morning. The man is restless – constantly seeking the comfort he can only find in a woman's arms. The reader is granted insight into a relationship which lies far in the past and is yet unforgotten: this is a book about love and our fantasies of love. Steinunn Sigurðardóttir's writing career began at the age of 19 with the poetry collection »Sífellur«, and today she is one of Iceland's most renowned writers.
