born 1960 in Offenbach, she studied Photography at Kunsthochschule Kassel in the 1980s. She then attended a painting class at the Staatlichen Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (Fritz Schwegler). In addition, she received many scholarships, such as the DAAD scholarship USA, the Peter Mertes grant and for Villa Massimo, Deutsche Akademie Rom. She has been professor of photography at the Universität für angewandte Kunst in Vienna since 2001.
