Åsne Seierstad born in Oslo in 1970, she studied Russian, Spanish and the History of Ideas. From 1993 she worked for a Norwegian daily in Russia, then China, before she became a war reporter for Norwegian television in 1998. She has covered regions like Afghanistan, Iraq, Chechnya and the Balkans. She currently works in the Middle East. Her books reflect the people living in these war torn places. Åsne Seierstad lives in Oslo.
