Klaus Brückner is director of the Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) (Society for Technical Co-operation) in Berlin. He was previously the prime minister of Nordrhein-Westfalen’s chief of staff, and as the South Africa programme director of the GTZ in Pretoria, advised the president’s office.
