The journalist works as an editor for the ZDF magazine »Frontal 21«. Born to Turkish immigrant workers in 1975, she studied educational psychology and literature. She has worked with Turkish and Arabic youth and is a member of the »Integration Advisory Council« of the German state North Rhine-Westphalia. In her book »Arabboy« (2008) she gives a glimpse into the world of those who lose out in the »parallel society«.
