Klaus Mühlhahn, born in 1963, is Professor of Modern Chinese History at the University of Turku, Finland, and also Director of the Centre for East Asian Studies there. He studied Sinology, Drama, Literature and History in Berlin and Taipei. His main topics of research include the social and cultural history of modern China, intercultural relations as well as the history of criminal justice and human rights in China.
