Peter Eigenwas born in Augsburg, Germany, in 1938. The lawyer has worked for the World Bank in South America and Africa since 1968, most recently as the Director of the World Bank in East Africa. In 1993 he founded 'Transparency International' an NGO, which fights corruption in ninety countries. His book 'Das Netz der Korruption', about the fieldwork and goals of the organisation, was published in 2003. Eigen has been teaching political sciences at the Freie Universität Berlin since 2004.
