Tilman Rammstedt [ Germany ]

Tilman Rammstedt was born in Bielefeld, Germany, in 1975.  He studied Philosophy and Literature in Edinburgh, Tübingen, and Berlin. He is a songwriter and musician for the group Fön as well as a member of the literary troop Visch & Ferse.  In 2001 he won the ninth open-mike competition.  His debut 'Erledigungen vor der Feier' (t: Transactions Before the Party) was published in 2003.  For this novel he received a New York Scholarship from Germany's  Federal Endowment of Culture.  In 2005 he was awarded the Förderpreis Komische Literatur from the city of Kassel, Germany.  Rammstedt lives in Berlin.
