Daniel Cohn-Bendit , born 1945 in Montauban, France. He attended school in Hessen and afterwards studied sociology in Nanterre University (Paris). During the Parisian May Revolution of 1968, he was one of the spokesmen and leaders of the student movement. He was expelled from France and went to Frankfurt am Main, where he worked as a teacher, bookseller and publisher of the »Pflasterstrand« magazine. Between 1989 and 1996 he was Honary Head of Department in the »Office for Multicultural Affairs«. Since 1994 he has been the presenter of the Swiss television programm »Literaturclub«. Cohn-Bendit was a member of the European Parliament for the German Greens Party (1994-1999) and is now a member of Les Vertes. In 1997 he received an honorary doctorate from the Catholic University in Tilburg, Netherlands.
