Andrew Ingram (Cape Town) - winner of the photo competition “Literature in Africa”

The eighth international literature festival berlin, with the focus on "Africa", organised the photo competition "Literature in Africa".  We received 438 submissions of 80 photographers from 20 countries (including Algeria, Burkina Faso, China, Denmark, Germany, France, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Namibia, Nigeria, Austria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Chad, Uganda and Union of the Comoros).

The winner photography, "Bookmark" by Andrew Ingram, was selected by a jury and is the main motive of the festival. It was taken in Cape Town. It  was awarded with $500 and is shown on festival posters, ads, the cover of the programme booklet and the festival website.

A selection of all submissions, made by the jurors Ali Ghandtschi, Hartwig Klappert and Ulrich Schreiber, will be shown during the festival.
