Guest of the ilb 2005
Judith Hermann was born in Berlin in 1970. After finishing journalism school she received a grant and wrote the short story collection »Sommerhaus, später« (1988; Eng. »The Summer House, Later«, 2001), which sold over 250,000 copies and has been translated into seventeen languages. In 2001 she was awarded the distinguished Kleist Prize. She published her second book, »Nichts als Gespenster« (t: Nothing but ghosts), in 2003.
