Adam Krzeminski was born in Radecznica in 1945. The specialist in German studies was guest editor of »Die Zeit« and is considered an expert in German-Polish relations. He is the editor of the news magazine »Polityka« and author of film scripts and essays. He was awarded the Goethe Medal in 1993 and the Essay Prize of the Polish P.E.N. Club in 1996. For his efforts in German-Polish relations he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit (1999). In 2006 he received the Viadrina Prize of the Europa-Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder. Krzeminski is the Chairman of the German-Polish Association in Warsaw.
