Rolf Hosfeld studied German language and literature, political science and philosophy in Frankfurt/Main and Berlin. He has worked as editor at a publishing house, edited the magazine »Merian« and was cultural editor at the weekly newspaper »Die Woche«. His work encompasses numerous books and articles as well as films and TV series. He most recently published the four-volume, multimedia history »Die Deutschen von 1815 bis heute«, as well as the monograph »Was war die DDR?«.
