Guest of the ilb 2005
Ulrich Woelk was born in Cologne in 1960. He studied Physics in Tübingen, gained his doctorate in Berlin, worked as a theoretical astro-physicist and is now a freelance author. His debut novel »Freigang« (1990; t: Floating) was awarded the Aspekte-Literaturpreis and his novel »Die Letzte Vorstellung« (2002; t: The Last Performance) was made into a film. His story »Schrödingers Schlafzimmer« (t: Schrödinger's Bedroom) appeared in 2006. In 2005 Woelk was awarded the Thomas Valentin Prize for his complete works.
