Schuldt, born in Hamburg in 1941, poet, dramatist, director.  Exhibitions.  No advertising, wordy, elitist.  Lives amid languages and cultivates them.  Lives in Hamburg and New York.  16 books.

Did not study.  Wrote poetry (to begin with 'Steinigung der Nacht', Basel 1960), organized the 'Internationale Ausstellung von nichts' (1960), read dictionaries, for a time sold electronics components at age 19, later on translated aesthetic writings, wrote essays on languages, tubular steel chairs, Lissitzky, Picabia, Broodthaers etc., sometimes worked as a sound engineer or on building sites, in 1966 created 'Textkörper' (see for example 'Vom Aussehen der Wörter', Kunstmuseum Hanover 1980), also contributed to radio, performances, short films, radio plays (most recently 'Sentimentalno').

In recent years 'Lustrufe im Garten' (Graz 1998), 'Am Quell der Donau' (Göttingen 1998), 'Olga at the Cosmic Door' (Cologne 2000), translations: Robert Kelly, 'Schlaflose Schönheit' (Salzburg 1996).

Schuldt was awarded the Paul-Scheerbart-Preis at the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2000.  In April 2001 presented 'the looks of words', New York.
