Wolfgang Kubin was born in 1945. The professor of Sinology, translator and author teaches at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Bonn. He writes poems, essays and stories. He was given various awards for his translations; for his volume of poetry 'Narrentürme' (t: Fools' Towers) he was awarded the Literature Prize 2003 of the Readers’ Society. 'Die Geschichte eines Kusses' (t: The history of a kiss) is his first volume of prose, his recent publication "Halbzeit einer Liebe" (t: Halftime of a love) is his third book of prose. Kubin is editor of the magazine "Orientierungen. Zeitschrift zur Kultur Asiens" and head of the German Writers' Association NRW-Süd. He lives in Bonn and Vienna.
