Guest of the ilb 2004
Hans-Peter Kaul, born in 1943, studied law after serving in
the army for four years. Her worked in the Foreign Service, e. g.
as a consul to Norway, as a spokesman of the German embassy in Israel
and as the director of the Department of International Law in
Berlin. Kaul campaigned decisively for the creation of an
International Criminal Court where he was sworn in as a judge in March
2003.
