Jörg Friedrich was born in 1944. Since the seventies he has dealt critically with the martial law, the refurbishment and the inadequate juristic prosecution of the NS-crimes. With the controversial publications, 'Der Brand' (2002) and 'Brandstätten' (2003), he focused on and documented the air raids of the allies and their disastrous impacts on the german civil population.
