Guest of the ilb 2003
Born in 1948 and studied philosophy
under Adorno in Frankfurt a. M. He was cofounder and editor-in-chief of
the »tageszeitung« and feuilleton editor of »Die Zeit«. He now heads
the »Opinion« section of the »Berliner Zeitung«. Widmann has translated Umberto Eco and other writers, and made his own literary début with the novel »Sprenger« in 2002.
