Guest of the ilb 2003
Adolf Muschg was born in Zollikon, Switzerland in 1934. He studied at the University of Zurich and Cambridge. After guest lectureships in Japan and the USA, he taught German Language and Literature at the ETH Zurich from 1970 to 1999. His first novel 'Im Sommer des Hasen' (Engl: In the Summer of the Hare) was published in 1965, followed by numerous novels, short stories and plays for theatre, radio and television. Muschg was honoured with many prizes, among them the prestigious Georg-Büchner-Preis. He was president of the Berlin Akademie der Künste between 2003 and 2006.
