Helmut Strizek

Helmut Strizek was born in Hesse in 1942, studied political science, history and French. He worked in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development from 1974 to 2004. Strizek was a member of the delegation from the European Community to Rwanda, and led work on projects in Rwanda and Burundi. An expert on Africa, he wrote his doctoral thesis on both countries in 1996 and most recently published the book »Geschenkte Kolonien« (2006).
