Peter Stein, born in Berlin in
1937, is one of the best-known German theatre and film directors. He
began his career at Munich's Kammerspiele then came to Berlin via
Zurich and Bremen, and assembled a top-class ensemble at the Schaubühne
am Halleschen Ufer, creating legendary productions. Recently, he has
taken on various large projects, including a performance of »Faust« in
its entirety and a ten-hour direction of »Wallenstein«.
