Guest of the ilb 2005
Fflur Dafydd was born in 1978 in Carmarthen, Wales, where she lives today. The bilingual author studied Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. Her literary career began when she won the Literature Medal in the contest Urdd National Eisteddfod. In 1999 her short story collection »Y Gwir am Gelwydd« (t: The truth about lies) appeared, and in 2003 she was a writer-in-residence on the island of Bardsey. Her short film »Bathtime« was nominated for the DM Davies Award at the International Film Festival in Cardiff. Dafydd writes plays, stories, screenplays and columns for theatre, film and radio, and she is the editor of the Welsh cultural magazine »tu chwith«.
