Junot Diaz received the 2007 Pulitzer Prize—the most important literary award in the USA—for his novel »The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao«. Even before this, he’d already garnered notice with his short stories that draw inspiration from figures like Toni Morrison and Sandra Cisneros that have been published in the New Yorker, which has since named him one of the 20 most important authors of the 21st century. The author will discuss the literary formation of trust and faithfulness—as well as their opposites. The life of immigrants in theUSA (he himself lived in theDominican Republic until he was six) is the focus of his work.
