Grada Kilomba [ Portugal, Germany ]
From a family whose roots are in São Tomé and Príncipe, Grada Kilomba was born in Lisbon, where she studied clinical psychology and psychoanalysis. She has taught at universities in Germany and Ghana. Her literary work is a mixture of academic writing, prose and poetic narrative which approaches remembered stories of slavery, colonialism and episodes of everyday racism. Her new book "Plantation Memories" is a combination of academic writing, lyrical and poetic narrative approaching remembered stories of slavery and episodes of everyday racism.
