Call to take part in the ‘berlin liest’ reading performance to launch the 14th international literature festival berlin on 10 September 2014

This year parts of the ‘berlin liest’ reading performance on 10 September will take place in the Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum and in the University Libraries of the TU & UdK in the Volkswagen-Haus. The entrance areas of the libraries will be set up as reading stages.

Anyone who has time and is interested in coming along can take part. We would like you to choose texts from authors who will be appearing at this year’s festival and we are only too happy to send you some suggestions. The reading should last about 15 minutes. The large reading performance on Wednesday, 10 September, will begin at 11 am and end at 5 pm.

If you would like to read in a language other than German, that would be great!

Please let us know which language you will be reading in. Every reader will receive a free ticket for the opening event of the ilb and the subsequent reading with Jhumpa Lahiri.

It would be great if you could take part in ‘berlin liest’.

We require the following details:

● your name

● the title of the work you have chosen

● the author’s name

● the name of the cooperating library

● the exact time of your reading

– we will be announcing a list of all readings on our website and on facebook two weeks before the festival gets underway.
