Friedhelm Ptok

Friedhelm Ptok, born in Hamburg, began his theatre career in Ulm in 1959. He performed in Bremen (with director Peter Zadek), Stuttgart, Munich (with director Fritz Kortner), Hamburg and Berlin. He has played many roles in both film and television productions as well as series, among them »Strohfeuer« (1972) and »Kaltgestellt« (1980), and most recently in the soap opera »Julia – Wege zum Glück«. His work »in front of the microphone«, which he has described as his third passion along with theatre performance and film and television production, has captivated listeners big and small. In 2004 his recording of the text »Lippel's Traum« by Paul Maar was nominated Children's Audio Book of the Year. He has been reading for the international literature festival berlin since 2001 and lives in Berlin.
